This is a sushi only review. I haven't tried the entrees. Let me say when I first came here I got more than I expected for this quiet town. The sushi is on par with any overpriced sushi joint out there (Azuma) if not better. It's sushi so expect to pay more than you do for an average jaunt to the local chain restaurant. And it is so worth it. The sushi chef is a genius. I don't know how, but everything tastes really fresh. My family loves the Vegas rolls but everything on the sushi menu we've tried is good. We have a baby and the wait staff is endlessly patient with our needs and helpful. All with a smile. Go here now! Get the sushi!

Wow! This was GOOOOOOD Japanese food with great service to boot! I'm preg-o so am avoiding raw fish (wahhh!), but I did sniff the husband's yellowtail, and it was very fresh and yummy smelling. I had delicious cucumber roll and shrimp tempura udon; both hit the craving-good-Japanese-food spot! Did I mention I'm half Japanese? Asahi will be a regular stop when we are travelling south from ABQ from now on.

I drive a lot across the country and it's rare to find sushi in little towns but when you do mostly in the coastal cities and usually staff that don't remember you I make it a point to come here the staff are always friendly amazing I love this place

Great sushi, as good as I've had almost anywhere else but it's right here in little ol' Los Lunas. I especially enjoy the variety in rolls and inclusion of green chile!

We had a great dinner last night the staff was friendly and they recommend rolls that were very yummy the and the food was awesome. The atmosphere was really nice and we were able to sit in a spot nice for a date night. Also nice and clean.

The sushi is awesome, just as good (if not better) as what you can get in Albuquerque. However, the service is ridiculously slow-even when there has been few other people in the restaurant we've waited for well over 40 minutes for 2 rolls. It's consistently been slow for us 4 of 5 times that we have gone. Take out is a little better, but there have been a couple times where it's taken a lot longer than they told us it would for 2 sushi rolls.

My friend moved into the area and was so happy when he found out that sushi master James worked here. We dropped in yesterday and ordered some sushi. My friend wasn't kidding, chef jame's is the best. Everything was insanely incredible. You definitely want to order his special flaming roll. It was great. My test for figuring out how fresh the fish is at a sushi bar is to order the yellow tail. I give it a shot and it was perfect, bright, full of favor and super fresh. I could eat there everyday. Everyone was super friendly the place was clean and had a light, fun atmosphere. Best sushi in the state? Quite possibly.

Can't really add much more than the others said here, the food is amazing, the Sushi, impeccable. The guy making it is a Master Sushi Chef from Japan, and he lives in Bosque Farms. Isn't that great? The appetizers, main courses, beer, sides, and sushi are all top notch, which is kind of weird being, well, in nowhere New Mexico. My son is stationed in N. California in the Air Force and we brought him here last year during Fiesta. He wanted to have sushi, but was determined that he would have had better in San Francisco or Sacramento. He was wrong. When the chef heard us talking and figured out that I was a veteran and my son was Active Duty, he gave us free ice cream and thanked us for our service. English is not his first language, but it doesn't matter here. One note, he's got his staff jumping there, he mentions something to them, they MOVE to get it done. Great atmosphere too. Everyone I've sent here can't believe how good it is.

Consistently wonderful Love love love the fresh sashimi fish served here. Looking forward to trying the steaks too...someday. Chef James is very nice and is quite funny. The parking lot is clean as well as inside the place. Always looking forward to meeting new faces at the sushi bar for a great dining conversation! Thanks Asahi for opening in our little town

This place is awesome. I have had sushi from all over the country and this place is awesome. Friendly atmosphere, the miso is great and the place is friendly. Well worth a try for yourselves. We went on New Years Eve and they were really busy so service was slow, but like I said, the sushi was well worth it!

I've found a world class sushi restaurant in the middle of New Mexico and I'm from the San Francisco bay area which has many sushi restaurants, but none that are on par with this one. You can tell the food is made with love and care because the taste of everything is spectacular! My kids loved the Unagi don and my father and I had the Salmon sashimi and an Asahi beer and hot sake to top it off! This place is highly recommended! Thanks for the good food and service!

I have a love hate relationship with this restaurant. The sushi is great but there are things that bother me. 1) There is a long wait for the food. I have been to this restaurant 4 times and 3 of the 4 visits we had a very long wait for the food and there were very few people in the restaurant. 2) They don't have a POS system and the bills are hand written and sometimes it is hard to figure out the prices. 3) If you are an early eater the Chef takes a break and does not return to the restaurant until 5PM. You can order items from the kitchen but no sushi until he returns. Other than those concerns, I love the sushi and will continue to frequent this restaurant.

First of the food is outstanding, fresh, good quality, big portions. The sushi is much better than the food, it is the best in Los Lunas, and one of the best in the Albuquerque area. The sushi is a little cheaper than some of those places in Albuquerque too. I took my sisters there, one of which has a group of friends that goes around to different sushi bars and tries them. She loved it and couldn't wait to bring her group down there. The only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is the staff is a little slow. I weren't on the first day it opened and have been going back every few weeks (twice this week) the food use to take really long to come out but it us getting much faster now. I'm hoping that the service will be much better now that I noticed the slow servers working at the new Applebee's down the street. Recommend the tuna bento box, and cowboy roll (sushi)
